Just in from this current week’s ESTATE SALES are two of the nicest collections
that I have had the pleasure to offer in quite a while.
The first is a large assortment of Copeland Antique China in the Dark Flowing Blue of the pattern Spode’s Tower. This is a beautiful pattern that has been offered by Copeland and Spode for over 100 years in different productions. The dark Flow Blue is from the 1800s and is just a Fabulous addition to any Traditional or English Country Decor.
I am offering several different sizes in plates, from the small 5 3/8″ Butter plates to the beautiful 9 3/8″ Luncheon Plates, both these sizes are hard to find, so take advantage of my Buy it Now, fixed price on these and many other pieces. Here is what the Spode Web site has to say about the history of this pattern.
Tower Pattern was derived from the printed illustration in Merigot’s ‘Views of Rome and its Vicinity’ published in about 1796. Tower depicts the Bridge of Salaro near Porta Salara, Rome. The bridge which originally had a keep built on top of it survives today although it is now unfortunately underneath the main route leading out of Rome to the airport. Tower pattern has been produced in a variety of colours over the years and is still made today in pink and blue. The pattern was used to decorate a huge variety of objects besides tableware.
In the 1860s, Tower was produced in a darker, ‘flowing’ blue which became very popular and soon after this produced on Gadroon shape which was copied from Georgian silver and it is this shape which is still used today.

Important Estate Find! George Jensen Acorn Sterling Silver |
Also at Janieruth’s Fabulous to Funky Finds this Week, you will find this Stunning Sterling Silver in the highly collectible pattern Acorn, by Danish Maker, Georg Jensen. I did a little research for you and here is what I learned:
The popular Acorn pattern was designed by Johan Rohde in 1915. The Acorn pattern, with its unique combination of subtle lines and striking ornamentation, swiftly became world-renowned. Rohde was probably the most influential of all the designers who worked at Georg Jensen and the Acorn pattern is the most popular of all of Jensen’s flatware designs, still in production today.
You will find over 30 pieces of this pattern in the store this week. While the price might seem high, be assured that this is authentic Georg Jensen Silver and it is unsurpassed in quality. Again, combine wins and save on shipping – combined orders over $100.00 shipped Free in the Lower 48!
